Blonde and balayage in Scottsdale

Go lighter, and know what comes next

A three-person color studio near Old Town. Every visit ends with the next one mapped: when to tone, when to refresh, when to leave it alone. We're welcoming new color clients.

A color day

How a color day runs

Six steps, each with its own clock. Your colorist tells you how long each will take before you sit down.

  1. 01
    20–30 min

    Step 1: Consult

We look at your hair in daylight, go through your color history and agree where today ends and the next visit begins.

  2. 02
    60–120 min

    Step 2: Apply

Lightener goes on section by section, placed to grow out softly. Your colorist checks as she goes.

  3. 03
    30–60 min

    Step 3: Process

The lightener works while we watch the hair, not the clock. Darker starting shades take longer.

  4. 04
    10–15 min

    Step 4: Rinse

The lightener comes out at the basin and the hair is shampooed before anything else goes on.

  5. 05
    20–30 min

    Step 5: Tone

A toner sets the shade: cooler, softer or warmer, as agreed at the consultation.

  6. 06
    30–45 min

    Step 6: Finish

A blowout, a look at the color in natural light, and the next visit written down: what it is, when to book it.

Blonde guide

Where you start sets the plan

Pick the shade closest to your hair now. These are typical paths, and your consultation sets yours.

Dark brown or black

The longest road, and the one that most rewards a plan. Lightening goes in stages so the shade lands where you asked and the hair stays comfortable between them.

  • Often two to four visits, six to eight weeks apart

  • A toner or gloss between visits evens the tone

  • First color day: three to five hours

Light brown or caramel

Closer to blonde than it feels. Most plans take one or two visits, and the second is often only a toner and a refresh.

  • One or two visits, a few weeks apart if two

  • Toner every six to eight weeks

  • First color day: three to four hours

Dark blonde or lived-in

Brightening what is already there: more light around the face, a cooler tone and a softer root.

  • Usually one visit

  • Toner every six to eight weeks

  • Root refresh every three to four months

Already blonde

Blonde needs the most upkeep, not the most work. Tone drifts, roots show, and Arizona sun and pool water pull warmth in.

  • Toner or gloss every six to eight weeks

  • Root refresh every eight to twelve weeks

  • A short visit in between: about 45 minutes

Work

Blonde, in the light

Balayage, brightening and finishing, from soft honey to cool platinum.

Clients

What clients say

Gwen W.

“Arielle told me how long each step would take, and it matched. I could plan my whole Saturday around it.”

Priya N.

“Luca's trims between color visits keep the shape right, and Elle remembers what I like in the chair.”
